Flakes

Price $21.95 - List Price $24.99

Each fall a sense of anxiety creeps into the minds of skiers. As the weather cools they obsessively begin checking web cams, peering out windows and aimlessly driving up mountain roads in search of the first snow. When those first flakes hit the ground we grab our gear and head for the hills. Whether it’s setting up a rail at the base or hiking the trails before the chair spins, we’re just stoked to be back on the snow.

Rage has always been about exposing the hottest up-and-coming stars and showcasing all aspects of freeskiing with the ski DVDs they produce. This season was no different with new and veteran athletes working harder than ever to bring you the most progressive tricks from handrails to backcountry cliffs. We tactfully planned our season to camp out at select locations until everything was hit, new tricks were stomped and everyone was ready to move on. Freeskiing is as much about the kids skiing 200ft ski hills, as it is about tackling big mountain lines. That is why in producing this ski DVD we made sure to showcase the sport in all its diversity. Whether it’s a 6:00am hike on a two foot pow day in the Wasatch or a midnight rail session in Minnesota, our cinematographers were there capturing the moments.

The Swift Silent Deep ski DVD is the story of the Jackson Hole Air Force and skiing's rebel spirit. A coming of age tale of a rag tag group of ski bums who’s rebellious spirit ducked ropes and broke laws under the cover of storms and in the process became the country’s most infamous ski fraternity. Founded in the 80’s by “Captain” Benny Wilson and Howie “Hollywood” Henderson, the gang’s outlandish adventures played a major role in birth extreme sports by leading skiing’s big air revolution and pioneering the big mountains of Alaska’s Chugach range. Through infinite images in national ski publication and films, and the domination of the first "World Extreme Skiing Championships", this underground brotherhood would eventually change the face of hard-core ski culture in America. This rock n roll journey takes viewers through the beginning of the American ski industry and the birth of the American ski bum, a unique counter culture totally committed to the pursuit of skiing. An 86- minute run through the snow covered mountains of history, Swift Silent Deep is the definitive film on hard-core ski culture in America.

This vagabond tale will take you through the lifestyle of skiing and the passion that continues to change the face of the sport. Take a ride in the orange truck that started it all on a rowdy road trip through India, Turkey, Switzerland, France, Alaska, Aspen, Utah, Montana, California and Jackson Hole..

Superpark 2

$5.00 - List Price $24.95

The idea behind Powder's Superpark skiing video is a scary proposition: Build the biggest jumps in existence, invite the world's best athletes to session at will, and capture the results on film. To help ensure the safety of the riders, and to allow for the execution of the biggest and best tricks, the hits must be technically perfect. Superpark jumps don't resemble anything a mortal skier will find at his home resort. These features often stretch 100 feet long, shoot riders halfway to the moon, and demand absolute precision. For the construction of the fourth annual Superpark, Powder enlisted seven of the sport's best athletes to assist Mammoth Mountain's Unbound Terrain Park crew in designing signature features.

When the 60 invited pros arrived on site, there were mixed reactions. Some found the hits too big, while other felt they'd discovered a fantasyland - a terrain park with the size and diversity that would finally allow them to showcase their true talents. Following a two-day spring storm that buried the park in two feet of snow, the skiers took to the air. The park proved both a blessing and a curse. Several riders, unfortunately, paid the price of injury. But as the hours and days passed, the best of the best rose to the top. It was a four-day session that won't be forgotten.
